Sound of the sea

In the roundtrip of life knowledge and honesty gets you complete

Sound of the sea

Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight, and hurt not.

Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

Will hum about mine ears; and sometime voices,

That, if I then had waked after long sleep,

Will make me sleep again: and then, in dreaming,

The clouds methought would open, and show riches

Ready to drop upon me; that, when I waked,

I cried to dream again.

my cousin Dr Sarah Pollock, who lives in Melbourne sent me this poem which I like.

In response, I wrote the following:

To come from the Sound of the Sea…,

And dancing under a boat,

writing of a fish that is not a fish,

but a mammal.

more feeling within than without,

gives rise to a like of a respondent poem,

dreaming awake is not as good as dreaming asleep,

however, if all that is offered,

take it,

For dreaming is more real to some,

…To this, the end of the poem.
