Family, the double helix and DNA Chains

I found myself in Beccles Public Hall once (possibly as long ago as 2 years) for a Soul night talking to a pair of paramedics. One was French, he took a piece of paper and twisted it once making an optical illusion joining the two ends and talked about the double helix.

What he did got me thinking and this text might be the result.

I am not kidding when I mention DNA Chains in the title of this blog. I suppose what I am saying is we are shackled to the generations before in the same way as they are shackled to the generations after. In other words we move as any other "connected" organism. We in English terms call this Family. What am I saying, we are shackled to our family? Perhaps we are. Through every meal we ever ate together, every argument, conversation or discussion, we are bound.

I am not saying that being shackled together is a bad thing, unless some other members of the family abuse the trust of the mechanical side of the shackling.

Of course, some families are more bound than others, and some members of those families are more "free" of this binding mechanism.

I am calling it a mechanism because I think the DNA Chains are partially the magic of nature and partially the mechanics of the working of a family.

I think there is a reason for family and that is why I believe in the structure of family that one may shelter within and rest from the world.

There is also the ability built into the DNA Chain, both natural and mechanical, for certain members of the family to break free of the shackles where their destiny is more urgent than that of the family.

I have mentioned destiny, which is a concept which is hard for some people to grasp. Personally I let destiny happen and do not try and influence it too much. Although, I think one can influence their destiny somewhat by making the right decisions.

You, the reader, shall note that I have not got my scientific hat on as I write this. I have got more of my poetic hat showing as I write these words.

If you find comfort in them as I do in writing them, all well and good.

All.
